Methodology
We always work according to a fixed structure, because working with a fixed structure provides clarity for all concerned. Then we look at your personal situation and adjust our working method accordingly.
Here is the structure you can expect from us:
- Clear understanding of the situation
- Identify the needs of those involved
- Agreements about the course of the process
- Working towards a broadly supported solution for what is at stake.
- Working out and recording the outcomes
- Closing
Joint Guidance
We, Aart and Diederik of A&D, guide you jointly. Experience shows that our personalities and skills complement each other well and provide significant added value. This is what our clients tell us all the time.
However, it is quite possible that certain issues are better suited for guidance by one of us. We will always discuss this with you.
We always consider the needs of all involved, the underlying intentions and the relationships between them.
1. Needs of all stakeholders
It is good to know that we do not offer ready-made solutions, but help you find your own solution. This is only possible if everyone agrees with the outcome. We help you and your loved ones communicate with each other. We explain where your choices will lead financially, legally and humanly. And we make sure that the final agreements are legally feasible. Then we record them in a written agreement.
In order to have all the expertise in-house, we work with a regular probate lawyer, notary, accountant and tax specialist. We can consult these experts as needed, but of course we can also work with one of your own.
2. Underlying intentions
To create good support for a joint solution, it is important to understand the deceased’s intentions and intentions. Sometimes the will or the introduction to the will provides the necessary clarity. However, it is also possible that the deceased passed on intentions in a way that is not clear to everyone.
3. Interrelationships
The dynamics within a family or household often play a major role in the distribution of estates. Not infrequently there are still “apples to be peeled” or bills to be settled, while those involved actually want to be able to grieve in peace. We have experience with many types and sizes of family dynamics and all the emotions that go with them. Moreover, we now know that estates can cause turmoil even within the best of families. There is no shame in seeking the help of a mediator. In addition, you can rely on our discretion.
